Hypnos Lullaby is a narrative pilot set in a dystopian world where dreaming has been outlawed and those who dream can become dangerously violent. The story follows Joseph, a rookie prison guard who wakes from a dream before beginning his first day at a maximum security prison. Assigned to transfer a notorious dreamer alongside his more experienced partner, Joseph is forced to confront both the brutality of the system around him and the increasingly disturbing reality of his own subconscious.

Written and directed by Mikel Estrada and shot by Ayilya Thampuran, cofounders of Flying Cat Productions, and filmed over 11 days across more than ten Vancouver locations, the production brought together more than 50 emerging filmmakers.

Visual effects were integral to Hypnos Lullaby from the earliest stages of production. For the film’s VFX and post production work, Flying Cat Productions partnered with Pinari Productions.

Hypnos Lullaby is currently in post production and is open for distribution and acquisition opportunities.
